Verizon is seeking an Associate Director to lead the design engineering team responsible for dark fiber, ultra-long-haul, metro and campus interconnect solutions for hyperscalers and neoclouds. You will shape route strategy, fiber counts, diversity, latency and cost inputs before deals are won, and ensure quoted work is buildable.

You will lead a team of senior engineers, driving innovation, standardization, and ROI-focused decisions across major AI Connect initiatives.

Qualifications

• 15–25 years in the field and leadership experience.
• Technical credibility to lead design engineers.
• Experience with dark fiber, ultra-long-haul and metro fiber programs.

Responsabilités

• Set the vision and strategy for dark fiber and AI Connect design engineering.
• Lead design engineers supporting top AI Connect customers to drive bookings.
• Own solutions for GPU campus interconnect, data center interconnect, long-haul routes.
• Define design standards for high-count fiber, latency budgets, and siting.
• Evaluate build options with Finance and Product, and model ROI and cost.
• Coordinate delivery with Planning, Construction, and Legal teams.
• Differentiate Verizon through technical leadership and innovation.
