Are you someone who picks up new software quickly, catches when something looks off in a dataset, and wants to spend a summer doing hands‑on work at the intersection of AI and B2B technology?

About the role

Spotlight’s Research & Intelligence team manages AI influence monitoring infrastructure for B2B technology clients through our Managed Services practice. The AI Configuration Intern supports the daily operational rhythm of that practice - helping ensure data flows reliably from the Profound platform to the analysts and consultants who use it, and that client configurations are accurately documented and maintained.

You don’t need to know how AI influence monitoring works before you arrive - you’ll be trained on the platform, the processes, and the context. What you do need is precision, consistency, and the ability to catch when something doesn’t look right and communicate it clearly. You’ll work under the direction of the AI Configuration Coordinator and Managed Services Lead, contributing to real client work on a defined set of tasks. Interns who perform well have the opportunity to continue with Spotlight part‑time or full‑time after the program ends.

What you’ll work on

• Execute agent configurations inside and outside of the Profound platform, supporting the buildout of prompt universes, competitive sets, and Knowledge Bases among other non‑Profound projects.
• Assist with maintaining client configuration documentation, updating setup records when changes are made to prompt universes, competitive sets, or Knowledge Bases under the direction of the Coordinator.
• Support routine prompt universe updates - adding new prompts, retiring flagged prompts, updating category tags - based on clear direction from the Coordinator or analysts.
• Help coordinate data handoffs between the Managed Services team and the analyst workflow, tracking delivery schedules and flagging when timelines are at risk.
• Assist with ad hoc operational support tasks including bulk data formatting, export cleanup, and report assembly.
• Attend company events, expand your professional network, and contribute to the culture at Spotlight.

What you bring

Precision and process discipline. You follow a checklist the same way every time and notice when something deviates from the expected pattern. This role depends on consistency - the kind of person who treats a data QA step as important, not optional.

Comfort with software and data. You pick up new platforms quickly and aren’t thrown off by a complex interface. You’re comfortable working with spreadsheets, CSV files, and structured data, and you find it satisfying to keep things organized and accurate.

Clear communication. When something looks wrong, you can describe it clearly and concisely. You’re the kind of person who flags an issue rather than hoping it resolves itself.

Curiosity about AI. You have some interest in how AI and large language models are changing the way B2B companies reach buyers and build market presence. You don’t need to be an expert - you just need to want to learn.

Coursework or experience in data analytics, marketing analytics, business intelligence, information systems, or a related field is a plus. So is any prior experience working inside a SaaS platform in an operational or administrative capacity.
