Job description

We are seeking an experienced AI Coach to help drive and validate AI adoption across engineering teams. This role will serve as a strategic and hands‑on partner, guiding teams in the effective use of enterprise‑approved AI tools, validating AI‑enabled delivery practices, and ensuring compliance with AI governance standards.

The ideal candidate combines a strong software engineering background with practical experience leveraging AI‑powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other enterprise AI platforms. This individual will help teams maximize productivity, improve delivery outcomes, and establish repeatable AI adoption best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

AI Adoption & Coaching

• Partner with engineering teams to assess, coach, and validate AI‑enabled software delivery practices.
• Evaluate team AI maturity and adoption against established AI delivery lifecycle (AI‑DLC) criteria.
• Review delivery evidence, telemetry, and usage data to measure AI tool effectiveness and adoption.
• Facilitate discussions with engineering teams to identify opportunities for increased AI utilization and productivity gains.
• Provide guidance on enterprise AI governance, approved AI tools, agents, plugins, and responsible AI usage.

Validation & Certification

• Validate self‑assessed AI certification levels using objective evidence, delivery artifacts, and structured review processes.
• Develop and refine repeatable frameworks for measuring AI adoption and engineering productivity.
• Support pilot programs designed to expand AI adoption across business units.
• Assist with ongoing certification and revalidation processes to ensure sustainable AI practices.

AI Tool Testing & Optimization

• Install, configure, and evaluate enterprise AI tools, agents, and plugins in pre‑release and production environments.
• Execute testing scenarios, document findings, validate fixes, and provide structured feedback to product owners.
• Help define and improve technical assessment, governance, and certification standards.

Metrics & Reporting

• Automate collection of adoption and performance metrics where possible.
• Analyze delivery outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provide actionable recommendations to leadership regarding AI effectiveness and usage trends.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting.
• Hands‑on experience utilizing AI‑assisted development tools within day‑to‑day software delivery.
• Experience with AI‑powered coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, or similar GenAI platforms.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices and engineering workflows.
• Ability to analyze telemetry, usage metrics, and delivery artifacts to assess performance and adoption.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity in a fast‑evolving AI environment.
• Experience balancing automated measurements with qualitative assessments and coaching conversations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with multiple AI platforms rather than a single vendor ecosystem.
• Exposure to cloud‑native and agent‑based development workflows.
• Background in software quality assurance, release testing, regression testing, or production validation.
• Experience developing governance, certification, compliance, or assessment frameworks.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, risk management, and responsible AI principles.
• Experience driving organizational change and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into practical business outcomes.
