Job summary

University of New Hampshire invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in MCBS. We seek an innovator applying AI/ML to biochemistry/biomedical science, with emphasis on protein structure, systems biology, multi-omics, or computational drug discovery.

You will build an externally funded program, teach undergraduates and graduates, mentor students, and collaborate across UNH centers such as CIBBR, HCGS, and the Data Science Core, located in Durham, NH.

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, computational biology, bioinformatics, chemistry, computer science, data science, biomedical engineering, or closely related field by start date.
• Proven use or development of AI/machine learning for biochemical/biomedical questions.
• Ability to establish an externally funded research program.

Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain an independent, externally funded research program at the intersection of AI/ML and biochemistry/biomedical science.
• Develop and apply computational approaches to protein modeling, systems biology, multi-omics, or drug discovery.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses; mentor students and build collaborations.
