Job summary

The University of New Hampshire in Durham invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Biomedical Sciences to develop and apply AI/ML approaches to biochemistry and biomedical science.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, computational biology, bioinformatics, chemistry, computer science, data science, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field by the start date.
• A record of research achievement demonstrating AI/ML use or development to address biochemical or biomedical questions.
• Evidence of potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program.
• Evidence of potential for undergraduate and graduate teaching, advising, and research mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain an independent, externally funded research program at the intersection of AI/ML and biochemistry or biomedicine.
• Develop computational approaches for protein modeling, molecular interactions, systems biology, multi-omics, or drug discovery.
• Publish in peer‑reviewed journals and present at meetings.
• Pursue external funding from federal agencies, foundations, industry.
• Mentor students; collaborate across MCBS and COLSA and partners.
