Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced AI and Automation Director to shape and lead the organization's AI strategy, aligning with business goals in Hawaii and a hybrid work model.

You will oversee end-to-end AI projects, mentor a diverse team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts, collaborate with IT, product, operations, and compliance, and champion ethical, privacy-conscious AI while steering budgets and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in relevant field.
• Five+ years managing AI/Automation/ML/data-science projects.
• Two+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms and data technologies.
• Deep understanding of NLP, CV, and predictive analytics.
• Familiarity with GDPR/CCPA and AI ethics.
• Strong data security and privacy knowledge.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Programming in Python/R and AI frameworks (TF/ PyTorch).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute AI and automation strategy aligned with business goals.
• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects from ideation to deployment.
• Lead and mentor a team of AI/automation specialists, data scientists, engineers, and analysts.
• Collaborate with IT, product, operations, and compliance to ensure success.
• Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Establish and enforce best practices for AI model development, testing, validation, and deployment.
• Ensure AI solutions adhere to ethical guidelines, privacy laws, and regulatory standards.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Perform miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned.
