Job summary

Smooth is seeking an Individual Contributor to identify repetitive work and build AI-powered automations, integrations, and tools. You will collaborate with the COO and cross‑functional teams to design scalable workflows and improve efficiency.

You will evaluate new AI platforms, document processes, and train teams to drive adoption while delivering measurable time savings and error reductions. The role is based in NYC with in-office Mon–Thu.

Qualifications

• Experience building automations, workflows, or AI-powered tools.
• Familiarity with no-code/low-code automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n, or similar) and AI/LLM tooling (Claude, ChatGPT, or agentic AI frameworks).
• Self-starter mentality and strong communication/product skills to work with non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be NYC-based (in office Mon–Thu).

Responsibilities

• Identify repetitive, low-human-value transactional work across teams that's ripe for automation.
• Design, build, and own AI-powered solutions: tools, agentic workflows, automations, and integrations.
• Maintain and continuously optimize internal tools and systems.
• Partner with team leads to scope, prioritize, and roll out new workflows.
• Document and train teams on new tools and processes to ensure adoption.
• Evaluate new AI and automation platforms and track/report impact (time saved, errors reduced).
