Job summary

NWU is offering a 10–12 week, full-time internship in Addison, IL focused on building automation workflows and lightweight AI tools. You will create connectors and templates with Zapier, Power Automate, and Make, while developing GPT-based assistants for drafting and lookups.

You will document tools clearly, index SOPs/FAQs, and track time-saved metrics for pilot projects. Requires basic Python, API/JSON skills, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior in Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Data, or related field.
• Experience with Zapier, Power Automate, or Make.
• Basic Python skills including API calls, JSON handling, and simple scripting.
• Familiarity with OpenAI or Azure OpenAI platforms.
• Strong documentation habits and a bias for action.
• Ability to work onsite in Addison, IL for the full 10–12 week internship.
• US work authorization.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay of $18–$20.
• Full-time position for 10–12 weeks.

• 3 to 5 live automation or AI tools.
• Clean documentation and standard operating procedures for all developed tools.

• End-of-summer demonstration to company leadership.
