Job summary

Proofpoint in Boston is seeking a high-performing AI Automation Engineer to join our CS Operations – GTM Automation & AI team. You will design, build, and evolve AI-driven applications and tools that boost post-sales effectiveness across customer success, renewals, and technical account management.

You’ll collaborate with AI Integration, Data, and Enablement teams to turn ideas into scalable capabilities, employing prompt engineering, multi-agent architectures, and enterprise orchestration in a

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
8+ years of professional experience with at least 2+ years focused on AI technologies
Proven experience building AI applications with demonstrated results
Experience in GTM, ideally within post-sales functions such as Customer Success
Strong command of advanced prompt engineering; understands how to construct context that drives accurate, reliable model output.

Responsibilities

Evolve AI chat assistants tailored to personas (e.g., CSM, Renewals).
Design and build AI-driven workflow automations using enterprise orchestration platforms.
Optimize AI system performance and determine what belongs in prompts versus code.
Integrate AI capabilities with the CS tech stack (Salesforce, Gainsight, Clari, Gong, Pendo, Snowflake/Redshift, AWS, Power BI).
Build agentic CS applications and define human-in-the-loop guardrails.
