American Electric Power seeks an experienced Business Analyst to bridge business units with architects and engineers who build for them. You will partner with business teams to understand how work is performed, translate insights into clear requirements, and shape candidate AI/automation solutions with governance in mind.

You will collaborate across data scientists, project managers, and vendor partners to ensure solutions meet data, risk, and production readiness criteria while enabling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field; or associate’s degree in computer science or related field with 2 years of relevant work experience; or High school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.
• 7 years of relevant work experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience eliciting requirements and delivering technology solutions in partnership with business stakeholders and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business units to understand objectives, pain points, processes, and data.
• Translate business needs into clear, testable requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
• Work with architects and business stakeholders to frame the problem, evaluate solution options, and define the path to production.
• Surface constraints including data availability/quality, compliance, risk, and ownership.
• Design and execute test plans tracing back to requirements and drive defects to resolution.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, project managers, and vendors throughout delivery.
