Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) in Columbus, OH, seeks a Sr Architect Staff, Customer Digital Solutions to define the architecture and multi-year roadmap for digital platforms across web, mobile, chat, and call center tech.

You will lead the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle, establish guardrails, collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Operations, and drive measurable improvements in deployment, reliability, and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS, engineering, information systems, or related field.
12+ years of technology leadership in enterprise or portfolio architecture.
Experience defining AI-enabled delivery strategy across planning, architecture, and operations.

Responsibilities

Define and govern the AI-DLC across inception to learning, with human accountability for quality and security.
Lead portfolio-wide architecture decisions, guardrails, and reusable patterns across web, mobile, chat, and call center tech.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, DevSecOps, Security, Observability, and Operations to align architecture and delivery.
