About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an Applications Developer II – AI & Automation to help turn innovative AI and automation technologies into scalable, real-world business solutions.

This is an excellent role for a developer who enjoys working at the intersection of AI, automation, application development, and business process improvement. You’ll have the opportunity to build AI-enabled applications, intelligent workflows, integrations, copilots, and agent-based solutions that solve real business challenges and reduce manual work.

What makes this role especially interesting is the variety. You won’t be focused on a single application or technology. You’ll work across platforms including Microsoft Power Platform, Airtable, AI development platforms, APIs, low-code/no-code tools, and emerging Generative AI technologies, taking solutions from initial idea through deployment and ongoing improvement.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI-enabled applications, intelligent automations, workflows, and low-code solutions.
  • Build solutions using Airtable, Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, AI platforms, APIs, connectors, scripting, and other development technologies.
  • Develop AI-assisted workflows, conversational experiences, copilots, agents, and knowledge-enabled solutions.
  • Design agentic AI workflows incorporating business rules, system integrations, human oversight, exception handling, and escalation paths.
  • Evaluate existing business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, user experience, data quality, and decision-making through AI and automation.
  • Translate business requirements into practical, scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Develop integrations and data flows across applications and systems using APIs, webhooks, connectors, and integration technologies.
  • Configure AI prompts, instructions, knowledge sources, workflow logic, and appropriate guardrails.
  • Work with both structured and unstructured data while adhering to data-management, privacy, and security requirements.
  • Test and validate AI-enabled solutions, including integrations, outputs, functionality, exceptions, and user acceptance.
  • Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, relevance, and appropriate behavior, and continually improve solutions based on results.
  • Troubleshoot application, automation, integration, and AI issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions.
  • Monitor deployed solutions for performance, reliability, adoption, data quality, and overall effectiveness.
  • Apply Responsible AI principles and work within established AI governance, cybersecurity, privacy, access-control, and development standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, workflow diagrams, configurations, integrations, testing documentation, support procedures, and knowledge resources.
  • Support AI proofs of concept and pilots, helping move successful ideas from experimentation into secure, governed, production-ready solutions.
  • Manage multiple development activities, enhancements, incidents, and priorities while communicating progress, dependencies, risks, and blockers.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in application development, application configuration, workflow automation, systems integration, enterprise SaaS solutions, or a combination of relevant experience, projects, and education.
  • Hands‑on experience with one or more application development, automation, low‑code/no‑code, or AI platforms such as:
  • Microsoft Power Automate
  • Microsoft Power Apps
  • Airtable
  • Comparable AI and automation technologies
  • Experience developing or supporting workflow automation using APIs, webhooks, connectors, scripting, integrations, or platform-native tools.
  • Understanding of APIs, integrations, data structures, data mapping, validation, and multi‑system data flows.
  • Working knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, testing, change control, release management, and production support.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across interconnected applications, automations, and workflows.
  • Ability to translate business needs into practical, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Good judgment in determining when AI is the right solution and when traditional automation or application development is the better approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities spanning development, experimentation, enhancement, and production support.
What Will Help You Stand Out
  • Hands‑on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience developing or supporting AI assistants, copilots, AI agents, prompt engineering, or AI-enabled applications.
  • Experience taking AI proofs of concept or experimental solutions into secure, supportable production environments.
  • Experience working within regulated, controlled, or complex enterprise technology environments.
  • A strong curiosity about emerging AI technologies and a track record of quickly learning and applying new tools to real‑world business problems.
What Success Looks Like

You’re someone who can take an assignment from requirements through development, testing, deployment, stabilization, documentation, and support.

You’re comfortable working independently on routine to moderately complex technical challenges while knowing when architecture, security, data, or business-risk decision needs to be escalated. Most importantly, you’re interested in building AI and automation solutions that actually work in the real world, not simply experimenting with the latest technology.

  • Remote position within the United States
  • Full-time
  • Work will predominantly align with Eastern Time (ET) business hours
  • No physical demands are anticipated for the role.
