Job summary

EY is seeking a senior AI/ML engineer to build and oversee long-running agent workflows, tools, and safety controls. You will design deterministic and asynchronous orchestration, ensure secure scoped access, and observe behavior with traces and audits across complex enterprise integrations.

Ideal candidates have 7–9 years of production ML or software experience, strong Python/TypeScript skills, and a track record shipping large‑language‑model applications. Hybrid travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• 7–9 years in software or applied ML with production systems ownership.
• Hands-on with shipping LLM applications, agents, or complex model-driven workflows.
• Strong Python or TypeScript production programming skills.
• Experience with model APIs, structured outputs, retrieval, and tool use.
• Knowledge of asynchronous work, state, concurrency, retries, and recovery.
• Experience implementing access boundaries and scoped authority.
• Proven ability to improve live systems via traces, metrics, logs, incidents.
• Willing to travel up to 50% and work in hybrid offices.

Responsibilities

• Choose the right execution model for agent architectures.
• Build dependable tools with clear contracts and error handling.
• Engineer agent behavior across planning, routing, delegation, retry.
• Create durable context from instructions, user state, memory, and feedback.
• Bound agent authority with scoped identities and budgets.
• Evaluate complete trajectories with tests for verified outcomes.
• Operate long-running execution with durable state and safe retries.
• Make behavior observable with end-to-end traces and replay.
• Protect user control with intervention points for inspection.
• Build shared capabilities via cross-team collaboration.
