Job summary

OpenArt, an AI storytelling and visual creation platform, is hiring a Software Engineer, Agent to build the agent layer behind our next generation of creative products. You’ll implement tool use, context and memory management, multi‑step planning, and cross‑vendor orchestration to deliver reliable experiences at scale.

Collaborate with founders, the agent team and design to define what an effective agent can do, ship frontend experiences (React/Next.js), and balance speed, correctness and growth

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full‑stack engineering experience shipping production software.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered agents with real users.
• Familiar with agent harness concepts: tool use, memory management, multi-step planning.
• Strong data modeling and schema design skills.
• Proficient in AI-assisted coding with tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
• Excellent communication of technical trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend the agent harness powering conversational and autonomous workflows.
• Build MCP servers and CLI tooling to connect agents to internal services and model vendors.
• Create reusable Agent Skills and structured workflows for complex tasks.
• Contribute to evaluation frameworks and observability to catch regressions.
• Ship frontend experiences (React/Next.js) for agent-driven products.
• Make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, correctness, and scalability.
• Partner with product, design, and GTM to translate user needs into technical solutions.
• Track agent ecosystem and bring best practices into OpenArt's stack.
