Job summary

Biltmore Estate is seeking a dedicated Facility Services team member for the third shift to clean and maintain guest areas across the Estate, including the Biltmore House, Antler Hill Village, and associated locations.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and readiness to handle emergencies, snow removal, and basic maintenance tasks while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of custodial/janitorial and/or maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in guest service, attraction, or hotel/resort environments is a plus.
• Second or third shift availability is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 19 years old.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms and public areas to Biltmore standards.
• Clean offices, break rooms, and collect trash.
• Perform light maintenance tasks and assist with repairs as needed.
• Stock supplies and organize storerooms.
• Snow removal at assigned locations; occasional hotel stay may be required.
• Work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
• Respond to emergencies and weather-related cleanups.
• Ensure safety protocols and OSHA compliance are followed.
• Provide world-class guest service through clean facilities.

Job DescriptionTypical third shift hours are 10:58pm - 6:58am, with a mix of weekdays and weekends required (including holidays).Facility Services staff are responsible for performing general custodial and janitorial work in and around Biltmore House, Antler Hill Village, Antler Hill Barn, Cedric’s, Bistro, Winery, RTSC, and other locations across the Estate. This position is required to perform the following: stock supplies, care and upkeep of pubic spaces and parking lots, pressure wash, and perform minor maintenance task, Facility Services team members will also provide general assistance and support for the department, leadership, and the company by providing a world class experience for guest accessing and using the assigned location.Essential Job Duties:1. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Clean restrooms with high degree of cleanliness and detail to Biltmore standards, clean pubic areas, offices, break room, empty trashcans, clean various areas on the Estate, carry out task as needed (light bulbs, pressure washing, clean fountain)2. Come in due to emergencies3. Detail-oriented4. Snow removal at RTSC, Village, and AHV Barn (with hotel stay included)5. Assist with cleaning and maintenance at RTSC ticketing center as needed6. Climb scaffolding, ladders7. Perform emergency clean-up of bodily fluids.8. Storm debris clean-up9. Ensure that safety protocols and quality controls are followed and that work is in full compliance with OSHA and departmental, company standardsAdditional Responsibilities:1. Perform very minor maintenance work orders as assigned by management.2. Assistance with administration related to area operational activities.3. Store, organize and maintain proper supplies and supply rooms.4. Work overtime, or different shift if required by management.5. Work from heights of at least 8’6. Provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company as required.Qualifications:1. High school diploma (or GED). Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred.2. At least one (1) year of previous custodial/janitorial and/or maintenance experience. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience in the same or similar role in another guest service, attraction, or hotel/resort environment, preferably working either second or third shifts.3. Outstanding attention to detail.4. Demonstrated commitment to contributing to the delivery of world class guest service through providing clean and immaculate facilities for guest use.5. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a guest service team.6. Ability to safely operate commercial cleaning equipment, and to read andcomprehend material safety data (MSD) sheets.7. Ability to be proactive and take initiative where appropriate.8. Ability to exercise good judgment.9. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under deadlines.10. Must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 19 years of age.Physical Requirements:1. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.2. Ability to stand/walk, stoop, bend, kneel, reach overhead and below throughout the duration of a shift.3. Ability to climb ladder/scaffolding up to 8 feet.4. Visual acuity and the ability to respond to a variety of stimuli appropriately.5. Ability to work effectively with exposure to dust, dirt, foul odors, bodily fluids,extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions, using the proper safety and protective equipment.
