Job summary

AHRI is seeking an Information Security Analyst to safeguard member data, research, and digital platforms. The role monitors threats, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports secure operations for membership systems, event platforms, and advocacy tools.

Essential duties include incident response, vulnerability management, risk assessments, and security tool optimization. A Bachelor's in a related field plus relevant credentials and 2–4 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college/university.
  • Industry security credential, such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC 200, or equivalent. CISSP or CISM is preferred but not required.
  • Two to four years of hands-on work experience in relevant information security or IT security roles. Experience in nonprofit or association environments preferred.
  • Working familiarity with public cloud AZURE, endpoint management systems.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and respond to incidents impacting member data or online services.
  • Perform regular vulnerability scans on association websites, portals, and third-party integrations.
  • Conduct risk assessments of association assets, networks and data.
  • Help deliver cybersecurity training for staff and member-facing teams.
  • Maintain and optimize security tools (SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls).

Job description

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is one of the largest trade associations in the nation, representing more than 300 heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), water heating, and commercial refrigeration manufacturers from all parts of the world. Ensuring human comfort, productivity, and safety while practicing environmental stewardship is the mission of AHRI.

AHRI has an opening for an Information Security Analyst. This position plays a critical role in protecting the association’s member data, proprietary research, and digital platforms. The Information Security Analyst will monitor and respond to security threats, ensure compliance with data protection regulations, and support secure operations for membership systems, event platforms, and advocacy tools.

AHRI offers a full benefits package of health insurance benefits, a tuition assistance program, a matching 401(k) program, a flexible work schedule and friendly work environment. The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $130,000 based on relevant experience in the role.

The work location for this position is Arlington, VA. We do not offer a remote option. Subject to supervisor approval, AHRI employees are eligible for participation in AHRI's alternate workplace program after 90 days of employment and a 90-day appraisal at a level of meets expectations.
