Job summary

Southern FS, Inc is offering an Exploring Agriculture Agronomy Operations Internship in Marion, IL for Summer 2027. The role provides hands-on experience in agronomy, field operations, and customer relations under location management guidance.

You will participate in field research, crop monitoring, and learn about inventory, ordering, and safety. The program requires 9–10 weeks, with an orientation event in May 2027 and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or certification and in good academic standing; first or second year preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
• Valid driver's license with travel willingness, CDL preferred.
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varied weather and heights.
• Must participate in Exploring Agriculture Internship Program activities.
• Available to work 9–10 weeks in spring or summer.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations.
• Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
• Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment for scouting.
• Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
• Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
