Job summary

Southern FS, Inc. is seeking a GROWMARK Agronomy Intern for Summer 2027 in Marion, IL, to gain real-world experience in agronomy operations and customer service. The role focuses on crop production knowledge, field scouting, precision agriculture, and mentorship through the GROWMARK Internship Program.

You will travel to FS locations, participate in program activities, and complete a capstone project while supporting farmer-member customers and learning from industry professionals.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or certification and in good academic standing at internship start.
• Interest in agronomy, crop production, and agriculture.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• Follows company policies and participates in required training.

Responsibilities

• Support agronomy operations and assist agronomy professionals in serving farmer-member customers.
• Learn crop production practices, crop protection products, plant nutrition, and agronomic recommendations.
• Conduct field scouting activities and collect field data.
• Assist with agronomy trials, plot work, field demonstrations, and research projects.
• Utilize precision agriculture tools and technology for scouting and data collection.
• Travel to FS locations to build relationships with employees, customers, and industry partners.
