Job summary

AgVantage FS in Iowa is seeking a GROWMARK Agronomy Intern for Summer 2027 to support agronomy operations and farmer-member customers. You will gain hands-on experience in crop production, field scouting, precision agriculture, and customer service through the GROWMARK Internship Program.

You will participate in mentoring, professional development, networking, and a capstone project, with travel to FS locations and a mix of field work and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree or certification and in good academic standing at internship start.
• Interest in agronomy, crop production, and agriculture.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel, including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Support agronomy operations and assist agronomy professionals with farmer-member customers.
• Learn crop production practices, crop protection products, plant nutrition, and agronomic recommendations.
• Conduct field scouting, monitor crop health, and collect field data.
• Assist with agronomy trials, plot work, field demonstrations, and research projects.
• Utilize precision agriculture tools and data collection.
• Support product inventory, ordering, receiving, and operations.
• Participate in customer visits, grower events, and educational opportunities.
• Travel to FS locations to build relationships with employees and customers.
