Job summary

Syngenta Seeds Field Crops in Slater, IA seeks an experienced agronomy researcher to conduct comprehensive studies on corn and soybean varieties, delivering agronomic content to support NK and Golden Harvest brand positioning as trusted advisors.

The role includes leading study design, field trials, data analysis, and presenting findings to internal teams, dealers, customers, and industry influencers. Strong analytics and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. and/or M.S. in Agronomy or related field strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in agronomy research trials and data analysis.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of farming best practices, seed technologies, and crop protection.
• Ability to plan, organize, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Build collaborative relationships with sales and agronomy teams to identify regional needs.
• Lead research lifecycle from study design to field mapping for corn/soybean trials.
• Oversee planting, maintenance, harvest, treatments, data collection, and supervision of staff.
• Conduct statistical analysis of yield and agronomic data; prepare reports and presentations.
• Maintain research equipment and support accurate data collection.
