Job summary

Evergreen FS is seeking a Safety Intern to support safety, maintenance, and operations initiatives during Summer 2027. This internship provides hands-on experience with asset management, preventive maintenance, digital inspections, and OT systems to improve safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, documentation, and driving continuous improvement. The program requires 9–10 weeks and may involve travel to multiple locations, including Bloomington, IL.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college or university in good standing.
• Interest in safety, maintenance, operations, technology, or process improvement.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel independently and overnight as needed.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Follows Code of Conduct and Compliance Program, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine safety inspections and workplace safety audits to help maintain a safe work environment.
• Support safety documentation, inspection records, and maintenance tracking activities.
• Help ensure equipment, facilities, and vehicles are maintained in accordance with company safety standards.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs and safety-related reporting.
• Participate in hazard identification, incident prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the development and delivery of safety training materials and employee communications.
• Observe and document safety practices, identifying opportunities to improve compliance and awareness.
• Travel to company locations to support safety, maintenance, and operational improvement projects.
• Gain exposure to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and regulatory requirements.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
