Job summary

The GROWMARK system's Evergreen FS in Bloomington, IL offers a Safety Intern role for Summer 2027. You will assist with safety inspections, maintenance tracking, and incident reporting to improve equipment reliability and workplace safety.

The internship requires pursuing a degree or certification and a willingness to travel. Strong communication and teamwork are valued, as is proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college or university and in good academic standing at time the internship begins.
• Interest in safety, maintenance, operations, technology, or process improvement.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel independently and overnight as needed.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine safety inspections and workplace safety audits to help maintain a safe work environment.
• Support safety documentation, inspection records, and maintenance tracking activities.
• Help ensure equipment, facilities, and vehicles are maintained in accordance with company safety standards.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs and safety-related reporting.
• Participate in hazard identification, incident prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the development and delivery of safety training materials and employee communications.
• Observe and document safety practices, identifying opportunities to improve compliance and awareness.
• Travel to company locations to support safety, maintenance, and operational improvement projects.
• Gain exposure to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and regulatory requirements.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
