Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a qualified service technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural and outdoor power equipment. The role covers in-field service, shop repairs, and participation in ongoing training, with emphasis on safety and documentation of work performed.

Ideal candidates will have experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, strong communication skills, and a reliable toolset, plus a valid driver's license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• Experience performing service repairs and meeting performance metrics.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in off-road/heavy equipment.
• Experience operating vehicles and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with basic computer functions and diagnostic software (Service ADVISOR preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Adequate personal toolset to perform job responsibilities.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and technology.
• Participate in all job-related training and development.
• Conduct or support customer clinics.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs in the field as required.
• Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
• Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information.
• Operates and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Other tasks assigned by management.
