Job summary

Mountaire Farms in Millsboro, DE offers an internship focused on a finance and analytics project within Commodity risk management. The intern will analyze data, identify process improvements, and develop recommendations for the Agri-Business team, presenting findings to department leadership at internship end.

Participation includes weekly seminars across Mountaire facilities, travel to Delaware for final presentations (Aug 2–6, 2027), and a 10-minute project presentation.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites.
• Must pass Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic understanding of financial accounting and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned project identified by department mentor.
• Attend weekly seminar series across Mountaire facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (Aug 2–6, 2027).
• Present a 10-minute project summary at internship conclusion in Millsboro, DE.
• Complete mid-way (week 5) and final (week 10) evaluations.
• Maintain a Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm schedule.

• The intern will gain hands-on exposure to commodity risk management, market analysis, and trade decision making.
• The role also supports our commitment to developing future talent with specialized expertise in agricultural finance and commodity merchandising.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university (Interest in grain merchandising, risk management, finance preferred).
• Valid Driver's license and willing to travel between sites.
• Must pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic understanding of financial accounting and financial statements

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete assigned project identified by department mentor
• Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities
• Other duties as assigned.
• All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 2 - 6, 2027)
• All interns are required to complete a 10-minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of summer. Presentations will take place in Millsboro, DE at the Administrative Building during the week of August 2-6.
• All interns must complete a mid-way evaluation (week 5) along with a final evaluation (week 10)
• Anticipated weekly schedule for this internship is M-F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
