Job summary

Mountaire Farms offers an internship within the Sales team to analyze Urner Barry market data, identify seasonal trends, and develop forecasting insights. You will work with Sales, Marketing, and Business Analytics to support strategic decision-making and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Poultry Science, or a related field.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Must pass Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel; data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, and reporting functions.
• Strong aptitude for working with numbers and analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and business insights.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to organize, interpret, and present complex information accurately.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present findings to stakeholders.
• Self-motivated team player with an interest in market analysis, forecasting, and continuous improvement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

To experience Mountaire's culture first-hand and provide additional exposure of Mountaire's family-oriented work environment. The intern will support the Sales team by analyzing historical Urner Barry market index data to identify seasonal trends, market patterns, and relationships between key indices. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Business Analytics teams, the intern will evaluate historical market performance, develop forecasting insights, and identify opportunities to improve market predictability. The project will focus on using data-driven analysis to support strategic decision-making, pricing strategies, and future market planning.

Project Highlights

• Contribute to Tableau Report Enhancements by identifying opportunities to improve reporting, visualization, and accessibility of market intelligence.
• Analyze historical Urner Barry market index data to identify seasonal trends, market patterns, and relationships between key indices that improve market predictability.

Internship Program Requirements

• Complete assigned project identified by department mentor
• Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities
• All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 2 - 6, 2027)
• All interns are required to complete a 10-minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of summer. Presentations will take place in Millsboro, DE at the Administrative Building during the week of August 2-6.
• All interns must complete a mid-way evaluation (week 5) along with a final evaluation (week 10)
• Anticipated weekly schedule is M-F, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
