Job summary

Mountaire Farms is offering a summer internship designed to expose you to our family-oriented culture while working on a real improvement project. You will evaluate the Grow Out radius process, review workflows, and analyze process data to identify opportunities for simplification and standardization.

You will collaborate with Live Operations teams, develop data-driven recommendations, and present findings to leadership to help drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree (Agriculture, Poultry Science, Animal Science, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Data Analytics or related field preferred).
• Valid Driver's license required.
• Must pass Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned project identified by department mentor.
• Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities.
• Travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (Aug 2–6, 2027).
• Deliver a 10-minute presentation on the project at the conclusion of summer in Millsboro, DE.
• Complete mid-way and final evaluations (weeks 5 and 10).
• Maintain a Monday–Friday 7:30 am–4:30 pm schedule.

Project Highlights

• Assess the current Grow Out radius process to identify opportunities for simplification and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that enhance data collection, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
• Analyze operational data and process workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for standardization.
• Collaborate with Live Operations stakeholders to develop practical, data-driven process improvement recommendations.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership to support operational efficiency and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university (Pursuing a degree in Agriculture, Poultry Science, Animal Science, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred).
• Valid Driver's license.
• Must pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across operational teams.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated team player with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete assigned project identified by department mentor
• Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities
• All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 2 - 6, 2027)
• All interns are required to complete a 10-minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of summer. Presentations will take place in Millsboro, DE at the Administrative Building during the week of August 2-6.
• All interns must complete a mid-way evaluation (week 5) along with a final evaluation (week 10)
• Anticipated weekly schedule is M-F, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
