Job summary

Stratyx in Annapolis Junction, MD, is seeking an Agile Developer to modernize a legacy system by building microservices with Java Spring Boot and AWS.

You will leverage Python to optimize AWS resources, design RESTful services, and implement CI/CD pipelines with Maven, GitLab, and GitOps. Collaboration and agile delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 12 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with microservices architectures.
• Ability to develop Java Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs.
• Proficiency with AWS native services and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Write Java Spring Boot microservices using AWS native services.
• Use Python to optimize AWS services like Lambdas and Step Functions.
• Build REST services with Spring to filter and select complex data objects.
• Implement CI/CD using Maven, GitLab, and GitOps.
• Apply Agile development practices and collaborate with stakeholders.

The Microservices Developer will be responsible for:• Writing java spring boot based micro service applications utilizing AWS native technologies• Utilize Python to optimize AWS services such as Lambdas, Step Functions, EC2 and S3• Building REST services with Spring able to filter and select complex data objects• Implement CI/CD principals utilizing Maven, Gitlab and GitOps• Agile development and delivery of software• Communication and collaboration: Software Development is a team-oriented discipline. Engineers need to be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, as well as with stakeholders.Basic Qualifications :• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education• 12 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience.Desired skills (2 of the below):• Java, Spring boot or python• JSON Schema• Microservice architectures• CI/CD Tools: AWS tools, Maven, , Gitlab & GitOps; Kubernetes, docker, Ansible• Database : NoSQL / MongoDB / DynamoDB Query and Schema Design• OAuth/OIDC Implementation experience• Test frameworks and automation to include Cyprus and Cucumber
