Job summary

Leidos has immediate openings for a software engineer to shape, develop, and deliver new software solutions using Java, Go, Python, C#, C++, and React. You’ll participate in Agile teams, learn CI/CD processes, and deploy cloud-based solutions across AWS/Azure environments.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical field and 2–4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s with less than 2 years’ experience.
• Experience with OO programming (Java, Python, or Go preferred; testing will be used).
• Experience with JavaScript and React.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile process fundamentals.
• Self-motivated to learn new languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques.
• Ability to work independently and with a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
• Experience with LEAF (Leidos Enterprise Application Framework).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software using languages such as Java, Go, Python, C#, C++, React.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle within defined parameters.
• Use Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git/GitLab to manage work and collaborate.
• Support creation and updating of design, development, and testing documentation.
• Identify roadblocks and develop workarounds.
• Plan and estimate development tasks to improve performance metrics.
• Develop maintainable code implementing user stories.
• Develop automated unit and integration tests in CI/CD.
• Own delivery of small parts of a system or application.
• Collaborate with engineers to craft the best technical design for new products.
• Build software where requirements may be evolving but customer-first is paramount.
