Job summary

General Motors in Warren (MI) and Austin (TX) seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead data pipeline design, build scalable data products, and drive AI-enabled data experiences across platforms.

You will collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers, deploy reliable automation, and shape data governance for Vector Search/RAG powered applications. This role is hybrid with frequent onsite collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Experience with data pipelines, modeling, and production support.
• Strong command of Python or Scala and SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and productionize scalable data pipelines and data products in Azure Databricks.
• Transform raw data into trusted data assets for analytics and AI workloads.
• Build automation and reusable workflows to accelerate delivery and testing.
• Define governed data patterns for Vector Search and AI-enabled apps.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers for feature engineering and productionization.
• Mentor teammates and promote engineering best practices.
