Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking an expert in agentic AI to design and deploy multi-step AI systems. You will work with product and research teams to translate business needs into production-grade agentic architectures, integrating LLMs with tools and data sources.

The role emphasizes safety, evaluation, and scalable orchestration, leveraging recent advances like ReAct, memory management, and tool-augmented reasoning in a high-impact travel tech environment.

Qualifications

• PhD, MS, or BS in Computer Science, ML, Statistics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of related industry experience.
• Experience designing and deploying agentic or multi-step AI systems in production or research.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks; experience with LLM APIs and orchestration libraries.
• Experience integrating LLMs with external tools and structured data sources.
• Understanding of prompt engineering techniques including chain-of-thought and few-shot prompting.
• Experience defining and running evaluation frameworks for ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evaluate multi-step agentic AI systems with autonomous agents.
• Research and implement state-of-the-art agentic architectures and prompting techniques.
• Develop and maintain agent orchestration frameworks for task decomposition.
• Integrate LLMs with external tools, APIs, databases, and code execution environments.
• Define evaluation frameworks to measure reliability, latency, cost, and safety.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to translate requirements.
• Identify and mitigate risks in agentic systems, including prompt injection and unsafe tool use.
• Stay current with evolving agentic AI landscape and inform technical direction.
