Job summary

Thoughtworks is seeking an Agentic AI Principal to act as a senior technical authority and trusted client advisor for complex agentic AI transformation in the UK and Ireland. Operating at Principal level, you will shape enterprise AI strategy, define agentic architecture blueprints, lead high‑value C‑suite engagements and guide complex programmes from opportunity through delivery.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in modern software engineering and Python, with a strong track record of testing, CI/CD, observability, maintainability and production reliability.
• Experience architecting and delivering GenAI and agentic AI systems at enterprise scale from discovery through deployment.
• Knowledge of agentic architectures and frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex) including tool use, memory and coordination patterns.
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation, information retrieval, vector databases and enterprise knowledge integration.
• Experience designing evaluation strategies for GenAI and agentic systems (quality, safety, reliability, latency, cost).
• Strong understanding of AI governance, safeguards, guardrails, observability, responsible AI and secure deployment.
• Experience deploying AI systems on major clouds, containers and production-grade infra patterns.
• Experience with model adaptation, prompt engineering and performance optimization.
• Ability to balance model capability with reliability, security, compliance and cost.

Responsibilities

• Shape and solution complex UKI pursuits with account, commercial and delivery leaders to translate client needs into propositions and architectures.
• Set architecture direction for production‑grade agentic AI systems, including multi‑agent workflows, memory, orchestration and enterprise integration.
• Establish reusable patterns for observability, auditability, traceability and control of agentic systems in production.
• Lead Thoughtworks’ agentic AI capability across teams and engagements, shaping governance practices and standards.
• Design solutions for regulated UK environments with focus on data sovereignty, privacy, security and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical and delivery leadership for complex programmes, guiding architecture reviews and risk management.
• Set technical direction across teams, defining reusable patterns and engineering standards for agentic AI delivery.
• Guide teams in balancing rapid experimentation with robust production engineering, evaluating, testing, CI/CD, reliability and cost.
