Job summary

Level is seeking an Applied AI Engineer based in Austin, TX. This role involves designing and building agentic workflows, automating operational processes, and ensuring the safety and compliance of AI features. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience in Engineering, proficiency in Python and another typed language, as well as practical experience with AI systems in production. Strong communication and evaluation skills are essential. This position requires onsite work five days a week, with relocation offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an Engineer, with experience in agentic systems.
• Proficient in Python and one typed language like TypeScript or Go.
• Hands-on experience with retrieval techniques and grounding techniques for AI systems.
• Strong knowledge of common agentic patterns and evaluation practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic workflows to solve defined problems end to end.
• Identify and automate high-leverage operational workflows.
• Build evaluation loops and maintain golden datasets for AI features.
• Ensure compliance and safety in developed AI products.
• Document production features and facilitate hand-offs.
