Job summary

Persistent in Charlotte, NC is seeking an AI Engineer to design production-grade agentic AI solutions in a hybrid environment. You will integrate AI agents with enterprise systems to strengthen automation, focusing on reliability, performance, and production stabilization.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, SMEs, SOR Engineers, and platform teams, building reusable components and patterns, and guiding QA, UAT, and production deployment to ensure robust operations.

Qualifications

• 4–9 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in Python and agentic AI development.
• Experience with Google ADK or similar agent framework.
• Strong prompt and context engineering skills.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SQL & enterprise integrations.
• Production tooling: unit testing, code reviews, UAT, debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade Agentic AI solutions.
• Create reusable agents, tools, prompts, and workflows.
• Translate business needs into scalable automation.
• Integrate agents with SORs, REST APIs, databases and banking systems.
• Support quality with unit testing, reviews, UAT, debugging and deployment.
• Troubleshoot agent behavior and improve accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and engineers; document guidance.
