Job summary

Successmatcher's client, a market-leading Agency Finance practice, seeks an Associate to advise on cross-border financing transactions in emerging markets. You will handle a sophisticated portfolio across sectors such as energy, financial services, telecoms, and transportation.

You will work with development finance institutions, multilateral agencies, and regional banks, handling project finance, corporate lending, loan participations, and political risk insurance.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Associate in project/structured/corporate finance at a top law firm.
• Familiarity with energy and infrastructure projects and DFIs.
• Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French.
• Ability to take on significant deal responsibility early in your career.
• Bar admission to NY or DC, or eligibility to waive.

Job description

Our client's market-leading Agency Finance practice focuses on complex, cross-border financing transactions within emerging markets globally. This group is at the forefront of essential infrastructure projects in Latin America, Central and South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.

As an Associate, you will advise development finance institutions, multilateral agencies, and regional development banks. Your work will span a diverse array of sectors including renewable energy, financial services, telecommunications, and transportation. You will handle a high-sophistication portfolio involving project finance, corporate lending, loan participations, and political risk insurance.

Qualifications

• Experience: Current Associate (Class Years 2022–2025) with a background in project finance, structured finance, or corporate finance from a leading domestic or international law firm.
• Sector Knowledge: Demonstrated experience with energy/infrastructure projects and a familiarity with the mechanics of development finance institutions (DFIs).
• Language Skills: Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French is highly preferred due to the nature of the cross-border transactions.
• Soft Skills: Action-oriented mindset with the desire to take on significant deal responsibility early in your career.
• Bar Admission: Must be admitted to the State Bar of New York or District of Columbia (or eligible to waive in).
