The Jonus Group is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster / Claims Specialist for a remote role serving NY and NJ markets. You will manage claims across Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Employee Benefits, acting as the client advocate and coordinating with carriers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Prior claims experience within an insurance agency or brokerage environment is required.
• Experience handling claims across Commercial Lines and Personal Lines is required.
• Employee Benefits claims experience and escalations are strongly preferred.
• Applied Epic proficiency is required.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage terminology, and the claims process is essential.
• Experience communicating with insurance carrier claims departments and negotiating on behalf of clients is important.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate claims across Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Employee Benefits accounts.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the claims process, providing proactive communication.
• Report claims to carriers and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted accurately and promptly.
• Communicate with carrier claims adjusters, underwriters, account managers, producers, and other stakeholders.
• Advocate on behalf of agency clients to facilitate timely and appropriate claim resolutions.
• Monitor open claims, maintain follow-up schedules, and address delays or outstanding issues.
• Review claim activity for coverage concerns and escalation needs.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation within Applied Epic.
• Assist clients with property, liability, auto, workers’ compensation, and other P&C claims; support EB claims.

Claims Adjuster – Insurance Agency

Position Overview

Our client, an established insurance agency, is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster / Claims Specialist to manage and advocate for clients throughout the claims process. This position will support claims across Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Employee Benefits and serve as a key liaison between clients, insurance carriers, adjusters, and internal account teams.

The ideal candidate will have direct insurance agency claims experience, strong knowledge of multiple lines of coverage, and hands-on experience working within Applied Epic.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate claims across Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Employee Benefits accounts.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the claims process, providing proactive communication and guidance.
• Report claims to carriers and ensure all necessary documentation and supporting information is submitted accurately and promptly.
• Communicate directly with carrier claims adjusters, underwriters, account managers, producers, and other stakeholders.
• Advocate on behalf of agency clients to help facilitate timely and appropriate claim resolutions.
• Monitor open claims, maintain follow-up schedules, and proactively address delays or outstanding issues.
• Review claim activity and identify potential coverage concerns, trends, or issues requiring escalation.
• Maintain accurate and detailed claim documentation within Applied Epic.
• Assist Commercial Lines and Personal Lines clients with property, liability, auto, workers’ compensation, and other P&C-related claims.
• Support Employee Benefits claim issues and escalations involving medical, dental, disability, life, and other benefit programs.
• Partner with account management and production teams on complex or high-exposure claims.
• Participate in client claim reviews and provide updates on claim status, trends, and outstanding matters.
• Deliver a high level of client service while maintaining strong relationships with carrier claims teams.

Qualifications

• Prior claims experience within an insurance agency or brokerage environment required.
• Experience handling or coordinating claims across Commercial Lines and Personal Lines required.
• Experience with Employee Benefits claims and escalations strongly preferred.
• Applied Epic experience required.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage terminology, and the overall claims process.
• Experience communicating and negotiating with insurance carrier claims departments.
• Strong client advocacy, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple open claims and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
