Job summary

Fondomonte Blythe is seeking skilled Mechanics/Technicians to support our Blythe, CA operations. You will maintain, diagnose and repair heavy diesel equipment across cultivation, transportation, and power systems, perform routine maintenance, and assist startups and system checkouts.

The role emphasizes safe operations, accurate record-keeping, and collaboration with supervisors to sustain production and quality in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ experience on heavy diesel engines desired.
• Repairs on heavy agricultural/industrial equipment and vehicles.
• Diagnose low-voltage electrical problems and rectify them.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work in a team environment.
• Genuine mechanical interest and aptitude.
• Experience with computerized diagnostic systems.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Mechanic certification desired.
• Ability to perform installations and fabrications; welding is a plus.
• Hydraulic diagnostic and repair.
• Knowledge of AC/DC electrical current.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect and repair equipment to manufacturer specs and company standards.
• Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction; repair or replace components.
• Check operation of cultivation, transportation, trucks, loaders, light vehicles, tractors, harvesting, pumping, well equipment and generators.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments; change filters and oil; weld as needed.
• Overhaul equipment as directed by maintenance manager.
• Record machinery hours, parts used and work performed.
• Assist with system startups and operational checkouts (config, wiring, calibration, grounding, power testing).
• Diagnose mechanical problems and reference blueprints/ manuals as needed.
• Maintain documentation for equipment and power installations.
• Follow safety and environmental policies; work with Supervisors to maintain production and quality.

We are looking for skilled Mechanics/Technicians for the Fondomonte Blythe, CA Operations who will contribute to and maintain the stability of our operations. We have a vertically integrated farming operation that includes growing, harvesting and exporting of forage products.

Essential Job Functions:

• Maintain, inspect and repair equipment to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of equipment or systems repairs or replaces defective components.
• To check the mechanical operation and functionality of cultivation, transportation, trucks, loaders, light vehicles, tractors, harvesting, pumping, well equipment and generators.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments (fluid levels, hoses, brakes, tires and clutches), change filters and oil. Weld as needed.
• Overhaul equipment as directed by the workshop/maintenance manager
• To ensure machinery hours, parts consumed, and work carried out are recorded accurately.
• Assist with system startups and operational checkouts on systems including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding and power testing.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
• Assist in maintaining documentation for existing and new equipment, control and building power system installations.
• Perform all work in a safe and controlled manner, adhere to safety and environmental policies.
• Work in conjunction with Supervisors to maintain production and quality.
