YMCA of Greater Nashua in Nashua, NH is seeking a part-time Afterschool Group Leader to create a safe, welcoming environment for elementary-aged children after school. You will supervise, build relationships, and lead enriching activities such as games, homework support, outdoor play, STEM, and arts in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience with school-age children preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to supervise children in a safe, positive environment.
• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff through active listening and a caring approach.
• Create a safe, welcoming environment by participating in games and daily routines.
• Always supervise children and follow YMCA policies to ensure safety.
• Serve as a positive role model upholding the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
• Assist children with homework and encourage leadership, teamwork, and positive social interactions.
• Follow the daily program schedule and support Before the Bell activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents about participation and well-being.
• Report any safety concerns per YMCA/state requirements.
• Work collaboratively as part of the Before the Bell team and participate in trainings.
