Job summary

Volunteers of America - Dakotas seeks a Middle School Youth Program Coordinator to lead afterschool and summer activities, supervise staff, and partner with schools and families to support student growth. You’ll ensure a safe, engaging environment and manage daily programming with hands-on involvement.

The role emphasizes strong communication, dependable teamwork, and ownership of site operations while remaining actively involved with day-to-day activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in school-aged care, education, or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of community resources is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision of youth during afterschool and summer program hours.
• Develop daily and weekly site schedule.
• Develop activity schedule, assign Youth Development Professionals to plan activities, and review activity plans and provide feedback.
• Purchase supplies and track expenses within budget.
• Educate students on check-in/out processes and use ProCare for communication.
• Collaborate with schools and families to support student growth.
