Job summary

Volunteers of America, Dakotas is seeking a Middle School Youth Program Coordinator to lead afterschool and summer programs. You will supervise a small team of Youth Development Professionals, engage directly with students, and partner with schools and families to support growth.

This full-time role requires strong communication, dependability, and youth-focused leadership, with daily hands-on involvement and site ownership. Monday–Friday schedule and a $1,500 hiring bonus are included.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience: at least two years in school-aged care, education, or related field with preference for middle school youth.
• Skills: strong ability to build relationships with school staff, students, parents; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision of youth during afterschool and summer hours.
• Develop daily and weekly site schedule; assign staff and review/activity plans.
