Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to manage a licensed school-age enrichment program, ensuring children are safe, engaged, and well-supported daily. You will coordinate operations, implement YMCA curriculum, ensure licensing compliance, and build strong relationships with families, school partners, and YMCA staff.

This is a part-time role, with schedule aligned to before/after school programs; requires 21+, relevant experience, and certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Hold a High school diploma or GED and complete 70 clock hours in child/youth development.
• At least 1 year of experience with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Must pass state/local background checks and FBI fingerprinting.
• TB test and health screenings per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Keep Children Safe by supervising and headcounts; follow licensing requirements.
• Site Management as Texas Licensing Site Director; maintain site operations.
• Supervision and Safety of children and staff; monitor incidents and adherence to policies.
• Behavior Management to promote respectful, inclusive environments.
• Program & Policy Compliance with safety drills and postings; maintain clean spaces.
• Program Planning and Implementation of age-appropriate activities.
• Parent and Community Engagement through regular communication with families.
• Administrative Duties including enrollment and attendance records.
• Program Growth and Retention through enrollment strategies and family outreach.
• Program Quality and Evaluation using YPQ processes and adjustments.
• Child Abuse Prevention and reporting; ensure proper procedures and confidentiality.
