Job summary

YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF SOUTHEAST VENT seeks a Site Director to oversee the Find My Genius Site, delivering STEM-based education to children and families while advancing youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. You will lead a small team, develop hands-on curricula, monitor outcomes, and ensure safety.

Build strong partnerships with parents, schools, and community organizations to expand participation.

Qualifications

• 12 units in ECE, Child Development, Education, or related field plus completion of Child Care Administration course.
• Teaching Credential is a plus.
• Experience with students individually and in small groups.
• Ability to plan and lead interactive ELA and Math activities.
• All required online training must be completed before starting work, which will be compensated.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate staff and volunteers.
• Knowledge of educational principles, curriculum development, and assessment, especially in science and STEM education.
• CPR & First Aid Certifications must be current.
• Criminal records clearance required.
• Certifications (must be maintained and current): CPR & First Aid; Mandated Reporter; Germ Management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the afterschool Find My Genius Site.
• Develop and implement academic STEM-based programs.
• Collaborate with staff to enhance program effectiveness and reach more participants.
• Monitor activities, evaluate outcomes, and adjust to improve performance.
• Train, schedule, supervise, and mentor 3+ academic staff.
• Provide ongoing support and professional development for staff.
• Serve as a positive role model and foster achievement and belonging.
• Supervise scholars, classrooms, and site operations including transitions and ADA accommodations.
• Build relationships with parents, schools, and community organizations.
• Maintain participant data, attendance, and program evaluations; document portfolios.
• Observe and evaluate each child’s progress and recommend adjustments.
• Ensure safety and compliance with policies and safety protocols.
• Follow policies for medical, disciplinary, and emergencies.
• Promote safe, productive learning environments with positive reinforcement.
• Identify hazards and take action to mitigate risk.
• Maintain site and equipment; ensure regulatory compliance for CA Expanded Learning Programs.
• Assist with program testing, run scores, and curriculum alignment.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; maintain a positive attitude toward all stakeholders.
• Assist scholars with homework; attend field trips and events.
• Manage site budget and procure snacks and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
