Job summary

Colonial Heights, City of (VA) is seeking a Site Supervisor for the Kids' Achieving Progress (KAP) program. The role supports tutoring, mentoring and recreational activities for youth aged 9-14, with a 2:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m. schedule, Monday through Thursday and some Fridays.

Requires a high school diploma and relevant experience, plus a Virginia driver1s license. The position involves supervising staff, coordinating activities, maintaining safety and engaging with parents, under the Program

Qualifications

• High School diploma and 2 years of direct experience working with elementary school aged youth, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Virginia drivers license; must have reliable transportation.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment medical/drug screening and criminal background check.
• Knowledge of child development.
• Excellent human relations skills.
• Good communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification (desirable).
• Desirable qualities: listening, supportive, patient, adaptable, dependable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all site staff and volunteers, adhere to policies to ensure safety and age-appropriateness of activities.
• Provide leadership and supervision to staff and children at all times; act as a positive role model.
• Plan, implement and supervise a developmentally and academically appropriate program meeting social, emotional and behavioral needs.
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe learning and recreational environment.
• Develop and maintain weekly calendar of activities.
• Develop and maintain professional communication with parents.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance sheets and logs.
• Manage inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Ensure daily sign in/sign out sheets are used.
• Communicate with school personnel to ensure positive relationships.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Ensure cleanliness of rooms used.
• Report information to Program Coordinator timely.
• Complete accident, injury, and behavior reports when necessary.
• Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
