Job summary

Staunton City & Schools Parks and Recreation is seeking a part-time Recreational Program Aide to support the HEART afterschool program. The role involves supervising children, helping with homework, and assisting with activities, snacks, and crafts.

The position requires childcare experience, good character, and completion of background checks, along with a valid driver’s license. Hours are 2pm–6pm, Monday through Friday. The pay rate is $15.22 per hour, and the job remains open until filled. EOE

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children is required.
• Successful completion of all required background checks.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Hours: M-F 2pm-6pm.
• Rate of pay: $15.22/hour.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in afterschool program and assist with homework.
• Coordinate educational and recreational activities and arts/crafts.
• Assist with snack preparation and supervision during program hours.
• Attend mandatory staff training and maintain safety standards.
