Job summary

Charter One’s Academy of Before & Aftercare is hiring a part-time Teacher Assistant at the American Leadership Academy-Charlotte campus.

You will support the Site Administrator in providing a safe, engaging environment for students before and after school hours, assisting with homework and activities.

This role emphasizes teamwork, parent communication, and contributing to enrichment projects under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Pass Background Check.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Associate’s degree in early childhood education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during before/after program hours for safety.
• Engage students with age-appropriate activities.
• Support with homework and provide guidance.
• Maintain organized classroom and clean materials.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about participation and concerns.
• Assist in planning enrichment activities with Site Coordinator.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Ensure safety procedures, fire drills, and evacuations are followed.
