Job summary

YMCA of Orange County is seeking motivated Part-Time Afterschool Program Staff to support our Lowell Joint Unified School Sites in La Habra area. The role runs 1:00pm–6:00pm, Monday to Friday, across El Portal, Meadow Green, Jordan, Macy, and Olita Elementary schools, with commute between sites.

You will mentor children ages 4–12 through curriculum-aligned activities, foster a welcoming environment, and model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+.
• 6 months experience working with children preferred.
• 48 college units or proficiency exam required for (non‑licensed/ASES programs).

Responsibilities

• Be a mentor to children ages 4–12 through curriculum‑aligned activities (STEM, arts, homework).
• Provide attentive service, warmth, and a welcoming environment for participants and parents.
• Model Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility daily.
• Support social‑emotional growth and success through consistent presence.

Salary Range: $16.90 - $20.45 Hourly

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday 1:00pm – 6:00pm.

Locations

El Portal Elementary, Meadow Green Elementary, Jordan Elementary, Macy Elementary, and Olita Elementary School.

Applicants must be willing to commute between multiple sites. All listed locations are conveniently situated within a 1‑ to 2‑mile radius of one another.

• Education Requirements: 48 college units or passing proficiency exam prior to hire for (non‑licensed/ASES programs).
