Heathwood Hall Episcopal School is seeking caring, energetic, and reliable part-time staff for our afterschool program serving children ages 2 to 14 in a safe, fun environment.

Reports To: Director of Extended Programs, Chris McDuffie. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 2:30p-6:00p, at least three days weekly. Pay: starting $12.00/hour.

• Previous experience in child care.
• Ability to work well with others and take direction.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, caring learning environment after school.
• Maintain a structured schedule including snack, homework help, activities, and free time.
• Take attendance and supervise students.
• Ensure students are picked up by an approved person; keep sign-out records.
• Prepare snacks.
• Plan activities and crafts.
• Provide a positive, engaging environment for students.

POSITION SUMMARY

Heathwood Hall Episcopal School is seeking caring, energetic, and reliable part-time staff members for our program. The program serves children ages 2 to 14 in a safe, fun, and engaging environment.

Reports To: Director of Extended Programs, Chris McDuffie

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:30p-6:00p, at least three days per week

Pay: starting $12.00/hour

Essential Duties

• Creating a safe, caring learning environment for students after school
• Maintaining a structured schedule that includes time for snack, homework assistance, fun activity, and free time
• Taking attendance
• Keeping detailed sign-out records to ensure students are picked up by an approved individual
• Preparing snacks
• Planning activities and crafts
• Supervising and engaging with students and ensuring a safe, positive environment

Specific Job Skills

• Previous experience in child care

• Have strong communication skills

Working Conditions

• Expansive school campus with 122+ acres, must be able to travel between buildings independently.
• Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending may be required throughout the day at various intervals
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
