Job summary

Greater Somerset County YMCA is seeking a Site Supervisor for the Montgomery School Age Child Care program in Princeton, NJ. You will oversee daily operations at a designated SACC site, support the Site Director, and help children with homework, activities, and new ideas.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, planning activities for ages 6–13, maintaining safety, attendance records, and coordinating with families.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least two years of experience working with children in a school, after-school, or camp setting.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Willing to work with all persons without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socioeconomic status, or disability.
• Committed to the goals and objectives of the Princeton YMCA programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervises groups of children and leads staff.
• Plans and implements a varied and challenging program of activities for children (ages 6–13).
• Creates and maintains a fun environment for children to work and play productively and comfortably, with full access to necessary materials.
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with children and families, greeting them positively every day.
• Communicates program issues to the SACC Director.
• Supports parent/family communication and follow-up with the Director.
• Facilitates planning and participates in service meetings with the Director.
• Supervises and manages daily snack.
• Maintains and tracks supplies for programs and activities, including equipment, program supplies, administrative supplies, and first aid equipment.
• Maintains site/room, equipment, and materials in an orderly and safe manner.
• Manages rosters and attendance records and ensures accurate record-keeping.
• Implements safety measures and regulations in compliance with NJ Department of Children & Families – Office of Licensing & Community Partners.
• Supervises and documents regular safety drills.
• Organizes and manages site-based licensing paperwork.
• Ensures implementation of health and safety policies at all times, following up on incident reports and filing documents.
• Ensures all emergency procedures are carried out according to Princeton YMCA & Greater Somerset County YMCA standard operating procedures.
• Supports promotion and publicity efforts for all YMCA programs.
• Demonstrates leadership and serves as a positive influence and role model to colleagues and staff.
