Job summary

The Greater Austin YMCA is seeking a Program Lead to oversee daily operations and ensure a safe, engaging environment for children at our Austin location. You will lead a collaborative team, implement daily activities, and partner with schools to support campus initiatives.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year licensed childcare experience or experience in an accredited school setting
• Proven experience supervising and developing a team
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage group behavior and resolve challenges calmly
• Professional, customer-focused approach
• Reliable transportation and flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends
• Growth mindset and team player mindset
• Effective communication and belonging-focused service

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and excellent experience for students
• Guide, coach, and inspire the team to foster collaboration and growth
• Implement schedules and curriculum including games, crafts, learning activities, and outdoor play
• Maintain safety and confidentiality per licensing standards
• Engage with school partners and campuses to support initiatives and events
• Promote social-emotional development and positive behavior through relationships
• Communicate clearly with parents, staff, and supervisors
• Address behavior concerns and scheduling needs with composure
• Model YMCA mission and values in daily interactions
• Complete duties and participate in program-wide events and trainings
