Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking an Afterschool Facilitator to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate programming for elementary students in the district's afterschool program.

Under the Principal's supervision, you will foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports homework, enrichment, recreation, and positive youth development, with attention to multilingual learners and students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 48 college credits or an Associate’s Degree, or a passing score on ParaPro/ACT WorkKeys.
• Minimum of two years of experience with school-age children in relevant settings.
• Authorization to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging daily programming including homework support and enrichment activities.
• Provide active supervision to ensure student safety during all program activities and transitions.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all students, including multilingual learners and students with disabilities.
• Build positive relationships with students and support social-emotional development.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding participation and activities.
• Collaborate with other afterschool staff to maintain high-quality programming.
• Maintain attendance and complete required program documentation and reporting.
• Prepare, maintain, and restore classrooms and shared spaces used during the program.
• Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
