Umana Academy in Boston, MA is seeking an Afterschool Facilitator for the part-time afterschool program. You will deliver engaging activities, provide homework help, supervise students, and foster an inclusive environment for multilingual learners and students with disabilities.

You will report to the Principal and collaborate with staff. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 48 credit hours or an Associate's Degree (or credential), and at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 48 college credit hours or an Associate's Degree, or passing score on ParaPro or ACT WorkKeys.
• Minimum of two years of experience with school-age children in afterschool/educational/youth development settings.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in education, child development, youth development, recreation, human services, or related field (preferred).
• Experience planning enrichment or youth development activities (preferred).
• Experience supporting students with disabilities in inclusive settings (preferred).
• Experience working with multilingual learners and diverse families (preferred).
• Experience in Boston Public Schools setting, particularly at the school where located (preferred).
• Familiarity with the students, families, and school community served by the program (preferred).
• Proficiency in language(s) (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Deliver engaging daily programming, including homework support, enrichment, recreation, and youth development activities.
• Provide active supervision to ensure safety and well-being during all program activities, transitions, and dismissal.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports participation of multilingual learners and students with disabilities.
• Build positive relationships with students and use positive strategies to support engagement and social-emotional development.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student participation and program activities.
• Collaborate with other afterschool staff to support high-quality programming.
• Maintain attendance and complete required program documentation and reporting.
• Prepare, maintain, and restore classrooms and shared spaces used during the afterschool program.
• Participate in required orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
